DC CPOA did it again!  10 FEB 03 Announcement

The CPOA DC Chapter sponsored the annual Valentines for Veterans event on 14 FEB 02 (Valentine's Day) at Washington, DC's Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Preceeding the event, MCPO Linda Reid created a large Valentine's Day card for the vets. CPO Howard McCarthy then volunteered to obtain signed greetings to the vets from hundreds of CGHQ employees. On 14 FEB 02 a Coastie contingent of MCPO Alex Keenan, MCPO Linda Reid, SCPO Mark Allen, CPO Ed Kruska, and CPO Howard McCarthy delivered the massive Valentine's Day card to the Vets. The contingent made sure to personally greet many veterans and thank them for their sacrifices to country. Perhaps most enjoyable was the opportunity to share laughs with the hospitalized vets during the simultaneous "Day at The Casino" hosted by the USO-Metro and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The Coasties, serving as casino dealers, were also dealt a winning hand by this fun event.
